I am in the process of installing a Generac 5875 and have a quick question. I am wondering if I can have the control and power wires enter from the bottom of the generator rather than the side? I have two underground conduits running to my unit a 3/4" for control wires and a 1 1/2 for the power feeds. I looked at it and space seems to be very tight within the enclosure but would prefer to enter from the bottom if possible.

Alternatively it appears there is a 3/4" knockout on the back that could be used for the control wiring but I would need to make a penetration for the power wires. I am curious why generac would not provide and knockout for the power lines?

Would appreciate any pictures if someone has entered the housing from the bottom.

Do not have any photos but if there is room to come in under the gen. that is the way to go. You take the possibility of damage to the conduit and wire from things like lawnmowers and weed eaters out of the equation. And IMPO looks a lot better. To me the conduit coming out of the ground and LBing or flexing into the gen. looks like cheap work.
