I purchased the GENERAC 6051 (on recommendation after speaking to a GENERAC rep) and found that the RTS EZ switch that came packaged with my generator was not the proper transfer switch for my application. I corrected the problem by purchasing the RTS12EZA1 switch from Ziller Electric and was able to sell the RTS switch. Now that we are moving forward to installing the generator, I have found that I am still missing a part for the install process. In reviewing the installation instructions for the generator and switch, it is noted that I will need the outdoor connection box and conduit. I've searched numerous sites and can not find this box. I'm thinking that it can probably be made up, but I would prefer the one direct from GENERAC. If any one can help me with my problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....EXHDO1

Why??? That little box is a pain in the butt anyway. Proper size weatherproof j-box and sealtite conduit and call it a day.

That seems to be the consensus (the little box is a pain). One of the reps at my local electrical supply recommends using a 60 amp. A/C disconnect box to make the transition from the metal conduit that comes with the switch to a sealtite conduit.

connection box

I just found out that Generac does not sell the connection box complete. You have to buy each individual piece (abouit 15) and put it together.

Just pipe it directly to the generator without any exterior box. Or Just purchase a 6 x 6 PVC box and use that. There is no need for a disconnect because the generator has a circuit breaker.
