Kobuck
Hello,
first post so hopefully doing it right.
i had a no start condition. Technician came out and replaced bellows. Ran for that outage. Now, back to no start.
If I crack open the air cleaner cover just a bit it runs and that is the only way it will.

Any ideas would certainly be appreciated! Can’t afford another service call.
many thanks!

Do you have any info on last time maintenance was performed? specifically valve lash adjustment, spark plug, air filter? Are you on natural gas or propane?

My estimate is it has maybe 45 hours runtime on engine. Plug and air filter are new.
Its LP. Never had valve adjustment.

First thing to do is adjust the valve lash, cold engine, .002" -.004" clearance between rocker arm and valve stem. This is with the piston at top dead center on the compression stroke. Next you need to verify the fuel pressure, I like to see 13.0 - 13.5 in.w.c. static pressure and no more than a 1" drop while it's running. Can you confirm if it is getting spark at the plug, can you smell propane out of the exhaust while it is attempting to start?

Check the vent hose coming of the fuel regulator, and the screen that attaches to the enclosure. finding a lot of spider nests in them this time of year. If the hose is partially blocked it can make it hard for the engine to start.
