I mean it is the bulletproof and still supported 1800 RPM Ford 2.5 engine you can get parts for at the auto parts store or Ford Power Products and a nice hefty alternator.
I have a rewind shop I trust to do things right, they are old school and know how to improve if the original design was deficient even. (Not the problem you had obviously). He even declined to rewind a rotor for a 3600 RPM junky RV set for me because he said he could not guarantee it.
Where are you located? If you are like me there are a lot of rewind shops in the area, ask around until you find a good one and think about the value of the machine you are fixing, think about the cost for a new replacement standby rated, even more for a prime rated one, there is no way rewinding it and reassembling will come close to that and the customer will have a good machine again.
There may be other factors in your situation but if it was in my shop you know what I would be doing already.

Yes I mean we inquired pricing for a rewind they wanted a lot of money to do it without any guarantee so that iis out of the question. I'm inquiring for the owner he lives off the grid and used this generator for years to charge his batteries mice got into it and spoiled the stator so we are looking for one. He is kind of attached to the unit and it seems a shame Generac stopped making parts for it as it was a good unit. I thought Id try to see if anyone out here had a stator for one. what do yu mean "a Hoss"?
