Filmed our R/C clubs air field today from 425' up. Really cool. Already have an hour of flight video.

Just took a look at their web site, and watched 2 of the videos - quite amazing really. It can pretty much fly itself when desired, and it recovers from errors by just releasing the controls. The follow-me mode is neat. What's the maximum altitude?

Set for 450' due to FFA regulations. Ive seen you tube videos of flights as high as 1,600'

That coincides with the FAA regulation that aircraft are no supposed to fly below 500' (except for landing and takeoff) in controlled airspace. Most of US airspace falls under that definition.

Today we had a crawfish boil at the airfield! Had aerial combat day! A dozen planes trying to cut the streamers off the other planes! What a blast! Got aerial footage of two rounds of this. A dogfight with a dozen planes! Awsome! Will post on Facebook as soon as I can.

Trying to get back to fixed wing flying was a disaster with the nite visionair I bought. Bought a sportsman S+ yesterday and had 5 great flights today, and 3 un-assisted landings before it got too hot to keep flying!

Sportsman got me back in the saddle! Flew the visionaire several times yesterday and landed on wheels each time! Gave me the balls to fly it lights on before sunrise today. Words can't describe the beauty we witnessed! Co pilot sad" or was an honor to witness that flight( my first no light flight) and you landed on the wheels!!!!

15 or so years with car/planes/helicopters, I could not keep up with the costs of being in the hobby anymore.

Now I fly real helicopters & have started my lessons at a local area.

It is a real blast of fun to really fly a real helicopter! The RC experience will transfer to the real World.

I can relate to that! I fly a Cessna 172 and it's a money pit. I burn about 10 gallons an hour, at about $5/gal.. plus cost of plane upkeep. Runs to about $120/hour to keep the plane in the air. But oh what fun!

Must be a lot of upkeep for those two horsepower animals!

I love the animals but even with our easy set-up there is always work and expense, at least with the Vette I don't have to feed it and clean up poop while it's just sittin' in the garage.
