I have been working on a Guardian mod. 04145-0 ser. 3226647. Found the control board in the cma box to be burnt, replaced this board pt# 076009asrv, and gen will start and then shuts down sometimes within 10 sec. or less and sometimes will run close to a minute before shutdown. The fault light comes on at that time. It can be turned off immediately and restarted. I have bypassed the oil pressure and coolant temp and level sensors to no avail. I did replace the coolant temp and level sensors anyway. due to unit having low coolant problems in the past due to rubber caps on heater core plug offs leaking. I am thinking the problem would have to be in voltage or speed sensing but not sure how to determine this. Unit is making voltage but have not checked freq. The diagnostic manuals I can find on genservice are pretty vague and this unit predates my experience. Thanks!

Make sure you are not loosing the fuel supply by the voltage shutting off or the solenoid failing. When you say you have bypassed the sensors for LWT, LWL, LOP what exactly are you doing? You should disconnect them on at a time. When the unit starts is it stable or is it surging? If your unit has a mag pick up then you need to make sure it doesn't have debris on the tip shorting it out. Peddler

wanted to update what I ended up finding on this unit, was able to get unit repaired a little over a week ago, found bad connection on one of the wires in the clip that connects to circuit board, also found set exercise switch to be sticking open occasionally which will drive you crazy until figured out.
