Hello, we have a generator that is not turning on on manual nor on auto. Battery has been replaced we are getting 12volts all the way through to the starter and to the board. The board fuse is good, but there is no sign of the screen being on. When we turn the switch to manual, nothing happens. Everything in the transfer switch has been tested. Any idea what it could be.

The controller should be live and show some activity on the screen if the battery has good voltage. Is the screen black or a light color blank? That era control has a history of the LCD screen going to a solid black and can't be read even though it is live. Check the connectors on the controller to make sure they are still plugged in, during battery replacement they may accidently get disturbed. If all checks out on the wiring then I suspect the controller is at fault and would need to be replaced. Ziller can supply the correct parts.

Geoff, when you get a chance can you move this to air cooled, thank you.

The LCD screen can be replaced for a parts cost under $20 without replacing the controller.  See my post under "LCD is Blank" of 10/23/18.  Other posters on the same thread offer good advice about going about it.

Have you checked the battery charger output? Have you checked the voltage while cranking? A nearly dead battery will read good voltage with no load. Put a load on it and voltage will take a dump. Even with a new battery if the charger is not working the battery will fall below tolerance during crank.

If you have a an error code on the controller (which you can't see right now) the unit won't start in manual. If you set the controller to off, then push the enter button a few times, any alarm will be cleared. You can try manual again.
