I have a 4389-3 7kw Guardian Plus and it doesn't get a whole lot of use, due to fairly infrequent power failures in the area, but when i used it last, it stopped after about 30 minutes with the oil light blinking.

I checked the oil and the level was fine. What else could cause this? I turned it on again and all worked ok for another 30-60 min, until utility power came back.

Could be a wave washer problem, get a tech in there to verify.

It seems the LED was not at the "low oil" as i first thought. The LED was actually misaligned and was really indicating "overtemp". What should I look at to get rid of an overtemp problem? I checked out the oil and my guess (due to the fact that I didn't have a way to measure the exact temp) is that it is truly overheating. Everything in there seemed very hot and would only stay on after a decent cooldown period.

Is there something I need to check or clean to avoid overtemps?

I'd look for insect nests or something that reduces or blocks the cooling air passageways and ducts.

I opened the area where all the ducts are, but I'm not sure how to examine further, or where to look for blocks. Are there specific areas I should look?
