SO,  IN A RUSH PROGRAMING THE INITIAL TIME AND DATE, I ENTERED THE INCORRECT TIME AND DATE.  I WENT INTO THE EDIT MENU TO TIME AND DATE, AND THE SOFTWARE WONT LET ME CHANGE??????  I CALLED GENERAC AND THEY SAID THAT  WAS UNUSUAL...  THE ONLY ADVICE THEY GAVE ME WAS TO DO A HARD RESET.... ANY OTHER IDEAS OUT THERE....

is this generator hooked up thru wifi (evolution 2 controller). reason i ask is on the evolution 2 controllers i have had issues trying to redo date without rebooting controller. evolution 1 controllers is easy to do in edit screen.

G.... thanks so much for getting back to me...I did not go thru wifi...I think you know more about this than generac tech support, he said that was an unusual problem....

a reboot is real easy. solves a multitude of problems. easiest way is to pull the T1 fuse first then unhook the ground wire from the battery. wait 30 seconds then reverse steps. yoiu will not need to reregister the generator. only will have to verify a few settings...date and time included.

Normally it would only lock you out from editing the time and date if you had set up wifi. Once you connect to wifi the controller pulls the time and date from Generac server based on your time zone.

Yes and no. I have one unit that insists its in hawaii....not idaho. Could never fix it. Owner said he could care less as long as it works when power fails

The only issue I've had similar to yours is when I've had a unit with a very week signal strength that would occasionally drop out. When the wifi is lost, the unit converts back to GMT. So it would exercise 8? hours (not going to bother to look up that time zone!) ahead of when it was set for.

When the signal came back, the unit self corrects.. all normal as per Generac.
