Owner of an older model 58070 CorePower unit. One of the things I check is the low pressure vent line on the fuel regulator. Found some spiders had set up shop in this vent . Any thoughts on how to prevent this ?  Have tried spraying  Raid  but this does not seem to be a permanent solution. Also I have read  some people are having trouble finding oil filters for this unit, rather than buying a complete kit , that has oil ,air filter and spark plug I'm trying  a Briggs filter. Part no 820 314 . Made by Tokyo Roki, Part no 15601-87703. This filter is a exact fit , heavy construction, concave bottom and anti drain back feature. Can be bought on line or from a small engine repair shop.  A bit less money and you do not get parts that are not always required.  Stay safe and enjoy the summer.

Spiders and wasps are big issues in the gas controls and vents, they like something about the gas, doesn't seem to matter to them if it's natural gas or LP. I have to contend with it in generator and HVAC equipment. I don't know of a long term solution.
