Is there a way around that?

You may want to call the dealer you purchased the controller from and see if he has any ideas. It sounds like the controller is no good.

I was interested to see what info I could get and entering that serial in genservice didn't yield anything, it just sat there and spooled.  Maybe because I don't have access to Telcom stuff.  What makes that unit really any different than a normal commercial unit then?  Especially with a Nexus controller.

It’s turbo 2.4 propane
another member thought it was programmed for an external ignition
i don’t have have that.
so the controller is hunting for that.
so far that’s seems to be the best advice.

If the J plugs are not plugged in in the proper sequence, the can buss error always comes up. On a side note, if something is wrong in the wiring harness, or the engine, it must be corrected to get rid of the alarm code.
