I just replaced my 0H6680A nexus controller with the 0H6680DSRV. I use jgyates' GenMon monitor and the serial number is reported to the status page of this monitor through the modbus as well as the total running hours. With the new controller there is no ser number reporting and of course the hours are starting from zero.

Is there a way to enter the old serial number & the total running hours from the previous controller into the new controller?

Thanks

Personally I prefer the hours displayed to reflect how long the that new controller has been in service, so I neatly write the old hours on the boards cover so that you can have the option of seeing the board's hours or you can add the previous hours to it on paper so you can know the total hours.

If that $800 controller poops out after 20 hours, I'd like to know that, and not have lost that information because I transferred the hours to the new controller

The hours on the engine and alternator mean nothing to me. And as far as oil changing and maintenance, only the interval since the last oil change rather than any total.

You cannot enter a SN into a nexus.
State your problem, not your diagnosis.

That makes a lot of sense. The ser# is also located just on the other side of the firewall. I use a GenMon program that grabs he serial number from the controller. I’ll see about just inputting the serial number manually into that program. I did use a label maker and documented the previous total hours from the old controller on the new one.

Thank you.
