Working on a 17kw Model# 55040. The "check battery" reads on the display.. The battery 1 1/2 years old is a Interstate Mega-Tron 75. I removed it and took the terminals off and got 12-13- dc volts-ok. I removed the fuse, to the right, in the transfer panel and the one at the generator. Installed the battery and both fuses.. Reprogrammed the system again and the display still reads "check battery". The correct date, time and year like it should appears first for about five seconds, then the check battery returns. I conducted a complete test of the unit including load test and it's working properly. Any ideas of what might be causing this fuction to appear? Thanks Bodine...

Did you acknowledge the maintenance alert (which is what this is), by hitting the enter key and then hitting it again to confirm?

Yucan, are you receiving as many phone calls as we are about this error? I've begged Generac to make this maintenance reminder listed as a normal one year status in the manual.
