I have a 85 yo customer that has a 4 year old generator that her husband had installed within an enclosed building that had vented door and side vents. Also had a powered exhaust vent up high. The powered vent failed during 5 hour outage and the controller outer case overheated and warped. Generator still functions ok and Controller is working but touch screen shot.

she can’t afford a new controller. I figure I can swap out cover and touch pads. I can pay shipping and handling.

thanks in advance

Seen this a couple of times after the fact.  My answer now is don't service them at all until corrected (installed outside per the manual).  That gets their attention and does not attach you to the potential carbon monoxide bomb that the building would be if somebody walked in there after an extended run.  I would not repair the generator if it was still in this little house.  My line is that it is in a safer condition broken than fixed.

Sorry no help on the original question, I don't have one either.

The homeowner is having her handyman remove the walls and leaving the roof only. Work to be completed in a few days.

Shoot. I can’t find an old controller any where’s. I even contacted GENERAC, and they never contacted me back. Can’t believe that I threw a few away just last month that had been sitting on my shelf for 2 years.
