There is this 6kw Ecogen.  Vertical shaft belt drive.  The main generator seems to be mounted on springs.  When under load, the main generator is beating against the upper steel floor it seems to be mounted to.  Pushing on the generator section with a hand takes up the slack and it quiets down.  Wondering if someone can provide guidance on this.  I do not know how these belt drive sets are supposed to be aligned/adjusted.

Looks like your on your own with this one, all I can suggest is tear into enough to get a look at the mounts to see if a rubber or spring mount is broken,
'course you already know that.

Looking at the drawings, it looks like the gen head is mounted on some plastic sliders with springs and nylocks underneath.  And spring tension provided by the horizontal springs.

So to get to the underside of this unit, we might have to take off almost everything.

Is it as bad as it looks to get to the underside?

I've worked on only one of those and didn't have to get into the mechanical part of it, they don't look fun or easy.
