I just got a used 14k , runs on propane. It takes a couple of cycles to start every week and it around 30 deg in ohio right now. When it shuts off and sits for hr or so it will restart in few cranks, is that normal?

Model and SN would be helpful.
Was this converted or did you go from LP to LP.

One of the most common problems I seem to read about related to difficulty in starting is the valves out of adjustment. I would probably start there.

Yes. Valves and new spark plugs.

As a further note, the engine should be cold when the valves are adjusted.

A majority of LP units I look at have low fuel supply pressure. Go through the basics, fuel, air, spark, compression(valves).

Absolutely. Hopefully you piped it properly. Oversized gas line works good. Also make sure it's flowing at 11.5" wc while running. Take some pictures of install

Looks like it had some repairs in 2009. A controller and something else.

In addition to what the others had mentioned.
Can you explain the fuel piping. Pipe size and length of run?
Tank size would play a part as well since you mentioned it was 30deg. Any other gas appliances connected to the tank?

Could also be a sticking choke plate.
I would get the fuel system out of the equation first tho.
