I am starting a new thread after my site visit. I have a customer 04109-2 that will not start. When I opened things up I found it drained the new battery so I suspect it’s not charging, but I’m not sure how to test on these. I’m also wondering if there is something parasitic draining things. We charged the battery and got to crank but not start, I think the gas valve is not opening. Thoughts? Suggestions? The glass fuse looks good and they have 240 across n1-n2. Thanks people

Looking at a glass fuse tells you nothing unless it was blown by a short.  The element can fracture from metal fatigue due to vibration.  The best way to test for that is to remove it from the circuit and test it with an ohmmeter.

What is the voltage across the battery?  If it's not at least 12.9 or 13 volts the charger has probably failed.

Murphy,
I you make a good point about the fuse, I have never seen that but it makes sense. I will check that. Can you give me an idea where the charger is on one of these?

Found it! I see that it is feed off a transformer. When metering I see 16VAC and nothing coming out. Thanks all.
